Surf Education & Development Scholarship

Mission Statement: We believe surfing can be a lifelong source of confidence, discipline, and joy. The Surf Educational and Development Scholarship exists to invest in young surfers with heart—those who show promise, commitment, and a desire to grow. By removing financial obstacles, we aim to open doors for personal growth, athletic development, and broader opportunity both in and out of the water.

Overview: The Surf Education & Development Scholarship offers flexible financial support to youth surfers in Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns Counties. Awards can be used for a wide range of developmental needs—from purchasing surf gear and covering competition entry fees to attending surf camps or supporting educational goals. The goal is simple: help aspiring surfers take their next step, whatever it may be.

Eligibility: Open to individuals ages 10–18 who live in Duval, Nassau, or St. John’s County.

Scholarships Available:

1st Place: $500

2nd Place: $300

3rd Place: $150

How to Apply

Create a 2–3 minute video telling us why you should be selected. Be authentic and let your personality shine. Your video should include:

Your name, age, and county of residence
Your surfing background, role models
Your goals or aspirations in surfing
How you would use the scholarship funds
What receiving this scholarship would mean to you

Include 30 seconds of video clips showing your surfing skills

1 letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, pastor, guidance counselor, principal, trainer representing your integrity and drive

Fill out this form and include the YouTube link to your video and upload the letter of recommendation.

Deadline: All submissions must be uploaded by June 16th at 11:59 PM ET.

Announcement: Winners will be announced at The Inaugural Amelia Island Sun & Surf Film Fest on Saturday, June 21st, 2025. The announcement will be made at 7pm during the event.
