Making 2024 Travel Plans

It’s crazy to believe that this year is coming to an end and 2024 is right around the corner.  I like to use the New Year as a time to reflect on new goals and aspirations, personally, professionally, and with my family.  I use the time to evaluate goals that I set the year prior and what goals I want to set my sights on for the upcoming year.  Since my family and I love to travel and my photography business is centered around sharing the beauties of Nature, we are beginning to plan potential travel destinations for 2024.  It's been a fun way to learn what everyone in our family is interested in and learning about new places and cultures.

As we start to brainstorm and make notes on potential locations, we check the airfare & hotel costs as well as proximity to the beach (very important for us!) .  For example we recently have been interested in visiting different Caribbean islands and started the island hopping in May earlier this year as we embarked on a cruise with the family to Grand Turk and Bimini, Bahamas.  More recently, Angela and I visited Rincón, Puerto Rico during Thanksgiving week and we had such an amazing time.  Now to continue our Caribbean journeys we are thinking about the Dominican Republic in the Spring.  Since I specialize in water and surf photography, I have been seeking out beaches with any significant wave breaks for surfing enthusiasts.  I love taking surf photos and videos.  If the conditions permit, I love paddling out for a few waves myself.

As for the summer time we are brainstorming the idea of spending two months in France and Spain.  We are still working out the details and locations but we are excited to bring the kiddos along for this expedition and to experience another part of the planet.  We are looking at some towns along the Atlantic coast, near Biarritz, France and San Sebastián, Spain.  There are so many amazing places to visit in the Basque region of Europe that we are actively keeping ideas flowing for a potential itinerary during the summer.  Regardless, all the brainstorming and planning as a family is really enjoyable for us.  It brings us together and we get to make and execute plans and enjoy the world all together.  Traveling is an amazing way to bring your family together.

We don’t have plans set past the summer of 2024, but Angela and I do have our sights set on a few bucket list destinations.  As the stars align for each experience, we will put plans into motion and begin to make life lasting memories.  You can do the same and start to make a list of your dream destinations and begin researching details for your trip of a lifetime.  If you are looking for travel ideas or have any recommendations for us, then drop us a line at support@southernedgestudios.com.
